When I sign up for a forum, the very first thing I look for is an area to introduce myself and probably get to know other people as well.

Maybe you can set one up for this forum... I strongly believe that effective marketing covers building relationships. ;)

I've just seen a photo of a rug in Rug Insider that's exactly like the one that I bought at an auction a few years back.  If this rug is the same one in the magazine, it's worth about 4k and I've been using it as my kitchen carpet - dog's food dish and all!

I'm sending in a free estimate from Rug Spa because they'll identify it for me when they pick it up to be cleaned.

Anyone else have rugs they don't know value, origin or whether it's Persian or Oriental?

I bought a rug at auction & didn't have a clue, but it was one of those that just gave me that 'rush' to look at it & knew it would be gorgeous in my great room.

I've never paid $1,000. for an Oriental that I did not recognize, but it turned out to be a chinese silk that's been appraised at $10,000. so you just never know what you have except that you love it.

I guess it doesn't matter when it comes right down to it but if you do send it to Rug Spa and it comes back looking like the one in Rug Insider & worth $4,000., I'd love to know how it turns out.
